Department of Zoology

The Department of Zoology is also one of the newly established departments of this college. Zoology deals with the study of animal kingdom specially the structural diversity, biology, embryology, evolution, habits and distribution of animals, both living and extinct.

The Department has expert faculties in different fields of research work in Zoology and conducts regular research guidance activity in bioremediation, environmental microbiology, pollution ecology, industrial toxicology, Stress Physiology, Insects Taxonomy & Biodiversity, Fish Physiology & endocrinology, stored product entomology, amelioration through plant extracts, Paedobiology, limnology, vermitechnology, histochemistry, etc.

Programmes:

  • The Department offers full time course in B.Sc. (Zoology).
  • The four-year undergraduate programme in Zoology is divided into eight semesters. Zoology is the study and investigation of animal life, from whole animals and generations through tissues to their cells and molecular structures. It provides a wide range of ideas and concepts about Ecology & Biochemistry, Comparative Anatomy, Ecology & Biochemistry, Animal Physiology, Mammalian Physiology, Molecular Biology etc.
